 The only thing missing was to cut off the ear of the incredibly entertaining, Victorino, a brilliant but irreverent bull. Because the Pep Rally, in anticipation of The Game Of The Year, we shared with IES Avenida de los Toreros had everything …

A spectacular Pep Rally that except for the detail of the mascot and nickname of the team, and because a few meters away was the Plaza de Toros de las Ventas instead of Madison Square Garden, could have been that of a typical High School in the USA .

Starting with the guest star, the great Joe Arlauckas a former NBA player, who moved around the audience making sure the Toreros were having a good time and enjoying the music of the rock band Broken Nails formed by the girls of the school and the fabulous cheerleaders and their spectacular routine lead by the kindest cheerleading Coach Paige, English Language Assistant and fan of the Beavers …

And of course with the great desire, enthusiasm and dedication of the players, feeling the colors of their school, and under the direction of Joe sharing his full repertoire of skills, such as dribbles to the basket, layups, one on one defense...Great skill!

To continue with High School spirit, there was the hymn of the Toreros, reminiscent of paso doble, under the direction of Head Coach D. Alberto, which was sung all over the yard ...Fantastic!

And a great finish on a high note with the words of the Director Ms. Teresa, who was proud, like the rest of the school for having assembled a great event, a very, very exciting Pep Rally.

Solo falto cortarle la oreja a la divertidísima mascota, Victorino, un toro genial, irreverente y muy, muy divertido. Porque el Pep Rally que, como preparación para  The Game Of The Year vivimos  con los Toreros del IES Avenida de los Toreros  lo tuvo todo…

Un espectacular Pep Rally que  excepto por el detalle de la mascota y apodo del equipo, y porque  a pocos metros estaba la Plaza de Toros de las Ventas en vez del Madison Square Garden , podría haber sido el de una típica High School USA.

Empezando por la estrella invitada, el gran Joe Arlauckas, todo un ex NBA,  POR  el público, entregado  con sus Toreros y pasándoselo en grande, pasando por la actuación de la banda de rock  Beaten Nails formada por  chicas del propio instituto, hasta las fabulosas animadoras que se marcaron un espectacular número en el cual se nota la mano de su Cheerleading Coach Page, FullBright Assistant, seguidora de los Beavers y simpatiquísima …

Y por supuesta las gana, entusiasmo y entrega de los jugadores y jugadoras, sintiendo los colores de si instituto, y, bajo la dirección de Joe , mostrando todo su repertorio de fundamentos, entradas a canasta , unos contra uno, defensa...¡Mucho nivel!

Por seguir con el espíritu de High School hubo hasta un himno con reminiscencias de pasodoble , el Himno de los Toreros , que bajo la dirección de Head Coach D, Alberto, fue entonado por todo el patio…¡genial!

Y un gran final por todo lo alto con unas palabras de la Directora Dña Teresa, orgullosa , como todo el colegio de haber montado un gran evento, un Pep Rally muy, pero  que muy emocionante….

Solo faltaba el Flash Mob final…y  , con la canción  “Torero “ sonando a todo volumen, y todo el mundo bailando, cerramos una gran mañana de baloncesto y de espíritu colegial…

¡No vemos el 17 ante los Quijotes del IES Cervantes!
